He’s Harry Potter first, and Daniel Radcliffe second. Whether it's Elijah Wood in Lord of the Rings, or to a lesser extent, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in Twilight, Radcliffe has faced an arduous task in distancing himself from the image of Harry Potter. That said, his renowned role was a blessing, but simultaneously a witch's curse. The perils of child stardom are all too familiar however, relatively speaking, Radcliffe has turned out well both personally and professionally, going on to star in a collection of theater, television, and film productions since the record-breaking franchise’s conclusion. Yet, that luck propelled a young boy into the universal spotlight, stripped of a once sheltered existence, and exposed him to media scrutiny, vulnerable to public fault-finding. Daniel Radcliffe has always openly acknowledged his luck when landing the titular gig in Harry Potter at just 11 years old.
